My friends in sales will be nodding effusively as I share this statistic: 80% of all sales happen after the 7th touch point.

And yet, 44% of professionals give up after one follow-up. Wait, what?!

Surely this isn't the first time you've heard this. Now obvi if you're reading this email (thank you) you're extra smart and do not fall in the bottom half of follow-uppers. I mean, seriously.

But while it's no wonder most people never reach their goals, I want you to reach your goals!

Quick Tip: Follow up with someone you are convinced would be better off if they said yes to you sooner than later. I've learned silence or a lack of response doesn't always mean "no." It usually means "I'm busy."

Case in point: I've got a purchase on my to do list and if the right salesperson called me, I'd buy. I'm just really freaking busy right now. I'll get it done, but not until this weekend (and I would much prefer to handle the transaction during the work week than sacrifice my weekend downtime, but alas, it is what it is).

There's someone who wants to say yes to you right now. Give them a call!
