This is the time of year I do some evaluating--of the past, present, near and far futures. It's almost time to design my vision and set some goals for 2026.

I want you to have a fantastic finish of this year (it ain't over yet, we've got six weeks to go, the equivalent of January 1st to mid-February!), and get a running start to next year.

So, let's start with evaluating the past.

I love a year that beats the previous year when it comes to my stats: books and courses sold, bespoke book engagements, revenue overall. In order to set goals for the future, I need to see how I've done this year so far--plus do a little comparison over last year.

Unless you're retiring on 12/31, it would benefit you to look at your numbers for this year--what gets measured and attention, grows.

You might want to look at:

  • numbers of words written
  • number of books sold (or published)
  • number of courses designed and/or sold
  • number of clients or customers, members in your membership community, or
  • something else

Take some time to compile your data, your numbers, and your dollars.
