Celebrate Every Review: They are Your Secret Book Marketing Weapon

Reading Time: 27 seconds

Today's tip: Monitor and celebrate your book reviews! Every review, good, bad or indifferent (hear me out) is helpful to you (I promise).

Great reviews are bound to happen--your inner circle will see to that as well as readers who don't know you that read and love your book. If you have a great book, those outside of your inner circle will leave reviews (sometimes without prompting).

Bad reviews will also help because they are obviously not written by fans (your mom isn't going to leave a 1-star review, for example). They can also help you produce a better book in the future, whether it's an entirely new title or a second edition.

Eventually you'll hit bigger review milestones like 100, 250, or 500 reviews, which continue to build credibility with potential readers.

Many people don't realize how important reviews are, so don't hesitate to ask readers to leave them for you. A simple request can boost your review count and visibility.

For example, if you've read one of my books, I'd be grateful for a review on your favorite platform. Your feedback helps other readers and supports authors in reaching more people.

Actively engaging with reviews creates buzz and attracts more readers, so when you can, thank reviewers either on the site where the review was left or even by sending a handwritten note.

Now to be transparent, Book Marketing Mastery (with code subscriber saving you 30%) doesn't talk much about reviews, but it'll help you put a marketing plan in place that will all but assure you get them! :) (See what I did there?)

I've got another tip headed your way tomorrow!
