Reading time: ~2 Bastille Day minutes 🇫🇷
Welcome to the Weekly Book Business Brief—your weekly shot of strategy, tools, and real talk for authors building a book-based business.
Happy Bastille Day, Reader! 🇫🇷
And happy World Cup final week to those of you (like me) sneaking in what's happening with the matches around all of the real life stuff going on.
Which brings me to an interesting July coincidence: 237 years ago today, a group of French citizens decided—loudly, publicly, dramatically—it was time for something else. They crafted their vision, and had the willingness to move on it. This was, notably, another July date some are still celebrating because they took action on their vision.
I thought this could bring us back (and nicely so, thank you very much) to what we talked about last week: your vision, and how just 100 days can move the needle toward make it real. 💪 (See what I did there?)
💯-DAYS TO AWESOME
Last week I gave you homework. If you did it, amazing! Those goals, and the paper they are written on, are now the most valuable thing on your desk. #itsneuroscience
If you didn't do the homework, you're not alone and you'll get no judgment from me. (Might I recommend you go ahead and pencil out some goals, my friend?)
Let's talk about today, Bastille Day, which feels like a solid day to start a mini-revolution against your own "someday."
Which means that if you do do last week's homework (set those 3 100-day goals) before you finish reading this Brief, that would be a great idea. I'll wait right here. 😉
Now, with your vision and 3 goals, you're all set. But here's what might happen next:
→ Post the goals on Instagram
→ Start a new Bullet Journal
→ Announce "the new me starts Monday"
→ Do great for 8-12 days (or less)
→ Fall off permanently around day 14, then
→ Feel guilty for the next four months #beentheredonethat
Sound familiar? I've been known to run that scenario on more than a few occasions.
Until.
I crafted what is now the STMA 100-day Program. It has a structure that you can wrap around your vision, which makes falling off (or failing!) nearly impossible. Don't worry, you're not suddenly going to become a robot. Every piece of the framework has one specific job: to keep you locked in, making progress, and ultimately, crushing your goals!
🎯 WHAT MAKES MY 100 DAY PROCESS BETTER DIFFERENT (ALSO BETTER)
The STMA framework isn't magic, although when you lean into it, it'll feel like it is. In fact, it's using math + an effective design that helps you win.
1. 100 days is long enough to move a real needle, and short enough that your brain can hold the finish line in view.
2. It removes the daily decision-making.
3. It helps you know what to do, in a quantity that will make a difference.
4. It builds accountability into the design.
5. It expects you to "wobble."
The whole framework: vision, structure, accountability, and a plan for the hard days, is designed to help you. You don't need a whole year--100 days is enough--to get some traction and see results.
🎁 A BRIEF-READER-ONLY SALE ON THE STMA 100-DAY PROGRAM
Because I want you to actually press the reset button (and because today is basically the perfect day for a mini-revolution), I'm running a Brief-reader-only sale on the STMA 100-Day Program this week.
Use code subscriber to save 30% off on your STMA 100-Day Audio Program...
...which you can use over and over. #soallyoulldoiswin
The course is my battle-tested framework, the one I used with my coaching clients for a dozen years. There are daily, bite-sized audio lessons, prompts to keep you inspired, and a schedule you can start right away. If you've been circling "when I'm ready," this is it: we're at the ready.

✏️ ONE MORE THING
Pick the one goal you'd feel proudest to have accomplished before Halloween. Circle it, star it, or put a big heart around it—then write it on a 3 x 5 card that you carry around with you. This is an old Bob Proctor success strategy, and I swear by it myself.
Your goals are the basis for your 100 days. Take one small action toward the one you circled today (which could be to get the course and use it to ensure the rest of your year is awesome). Bonus points if you take an action toward all three.
Remember: You've got this!
Have a wonderful week and I'll see you next Tuesday!
To your success!
