What Ms. Cat Food Actually Did

Reading Time: Postcard (25 seconds)

Yesterday I shared that Ms. Cat Food and I were Feng Shui practitioners--and boy did y'all love this idea. I promised to share some fun and effective actions you can take.

Before I share them, let me say that everything is energy and if you have a problem, there's a good chance you've got some congestion. What you need is circulation, and Feng Shui is a circulation catalyst.

Here's what she did, what I did, and what you can do:

1. Declutter everything. Get rid of clothes that don't fit, dishes that never get used, furniture you do not love. Yes, it's better to have an empty space than a thing you're settling for. Ya gotta make space—literally—for the new version of yourself.

2. Organize your kitchen. Put that yummy, healthy food front and center (yes, they can be one and the same). Make treats harder to reach or don't have them within your four walls. (This was one thing Ms. Cat Food did to support her goal.)

3. Create a space for your morning ritual. Set yourself up with everything you need for your A.M. routine (which you know sets you up for a fantastic day!). No excuses. No searching while wasting time (oh yeah, I've been super guilty of this one). Just set yourself up to show up. Your great intentions pave the way for great results.

4. Rearrange your bedroom. Get new bedding. Dust, sweep, vacuum, and mop. Make your bedroom your sanctuary, and let that great energy flow! (Also: better sleep will mean better choices the next day.)

Are these and other Feng Shui principles what made the difference? Or was it simply being intentional about our environments?

Does it matter?

Well, here's what does: Your environment is either working for you or against you. There's no neutral ground. You're either congested or you're circulating.

Tomorrow I'm going to talk about why this all works (even if you think it's nonsense).

See you then,

Reading Time: Postcard (less than 30 seconds) Did you know: Your environment is making decisions for you whether you realize it or not. There are dozens of micro-decisions you will make today based on the previous major and micro decisions you've made. If you're like me, when there are cookies in the house, you'll eat them. (Sure I can put them in the freezer "for the future" but the future is in about 20 minutes...) If my workout clothes aren't laid out the night before and ready to go, I...

Reading Time: Postcard (<40 seconds) So I've chatted about having an accountability system (avoiding fat and any other types of shaming) and the importance of making an identity shift to make long-lasting change. But there's one more piece of her success story I haven't shared with you quite yet. And it's a piece people can tend to overlook when trying to make changes that last. It's something I was lucky to find more than 20 years ago myself. Now if you would have told logical me that it...

Reading Time: <2 minutes (Two-page handwritten letter) My inbox was on fire yesterday--thank you to everyone who got the point and sent support. It took me almost two hours to answer everyone's emails--amazing!! It's a good thing it was monthly admin day at Honoree Enterprises HQ! Okay, so where were we? Ah yes. Ms. Cat Food—the woman who came face-to-face with a can of Fancy Feast and won! ...and she's kept it off for 20 years. 20! Let's pause here, because this is where most weight loss...
