Are you celebrating? Part FINAL

Reading Time: 25 seconds

So in this very busy second work week of the year, we've talked about celebrating your author anniversary, your book birthdays, and your progress.

Because, it’s easy to get busy and skip celebrating … or skip celebrating because we’re conditioned to keep looking down the road at the next goal.

Here's what I suggest you do with all that celebrating: you share it!

I’m not talking about taking the "look at me" position because you’re so totally cool (because you are!) However, I’m more thinking you share about in a "this is what's possible" way.

Every time you celebrate a milestone, you remind people that you're an author, you're an expert, and that you wrote the book on your topic.

I would hope when I share how many books I’ve written, sold, and translated, you think, « Well, if she can do it, I can do it! »

Please celebrate publicly. Post about your wins. Share your journey—the good, some of the bad, and a little of the ugly. Let people see your authenticity, plus that you're committed, you're progressing, and you're continuing to do the hard work necessary to keep chalking up those wins.

(If you're not celebrating because you think it's bragging? Stop that right now. You earned this.)

I’m going in a different direction tomorrow, but until then, put on your party hats, crank up some ‘80s tunes, and celebrate!

Reading Time: 8 seconds So, did you add those book birthdays to your calendar? (Good.) Now let's talk about something else worth celebrating: the fact that you set a goal and you're making progress. Maybe your progress isn't as fast as you'd like it to be (it might like you're hardly making any progress at all). That's okay. Progress is progress, and you're further along than you were yesterday, last week, or last month. (At least you're here, reading these emails, looking for hope and...
