Next Year Starts This Year

Reading Time: Short Missive (58 seconds)

I'm a little late to the party this morning, as I've been simultaneously finishing the first draft of Project 100 (more details on that when I can share) and prepping for the Empire Builders Mastermind Class of 2026 kickoff.

We're having our kickoff dinner this evening, and then two days of strategizing for next year.

As I've been waiting for the caffeine to kick in, I've been thinking about you, Reader, and why you're most likely here, reading my emails.

It's because you want something you don't have--let me guess--an empire? And you know I have one.

So allow me to talk about one aspect of my belief system that feeds my empire quite nicely:

December is not a throw-away month. It's the month that can set you up to win, big time, next year.

It's easy to say, "It's the holidays. Nobody is buying. I'm going to rest." (Big mistake. Huge!)

Another belief: Run hard (i.e., word hard when I'm working). Take regular rest (schedule time off including all evenings, weekends, and holidays).

The reason I kickoff next year's mastermind the first week of December is simple: successful empire builders start the year, if not at a sprint, at least a trot--utilizing the momentum gained from their year-end planning.

Not to spoil a surprise, because the EBMers of '26 already know, but we'll be inking our Top 4 2026 goals as well as our goals for the first 100 days.

Even if you're planning to chill most of this month--and good on you if you are--take maybe a half-day and do some strategic planning and BHAG-setting for next year. Set your intentions. Get very clear about how you want your body, bank account, and businesses to look on December 3, 2026.

Because it'll be here before you know it.

If you want a line of sight into my process, get a copy of Vision to Reality (2nd Edition) right here: https://amzn.to/4oPum6Z

Tomorrow, I'll tell you what's cool about the process (and what the heck a BHAG is), in case you don't already know.

See you tomorrow!

P.S. There have been so many people asking if they can still get in on The Author Success Bundle SALE at $197 using code VIPBF25. Yes, of course. I know it takes a minute to get through all of those holiday weekend emails. I've extended the code for a bit, but don't be silly and wait if you know you want to write a solid, revenue-generating book in 2026.

Reading Time: Short Missive (48 seconds) Okay, so let's pick up where we left off yesterday--with why my 100-day goal achievement process is awesome (I know I don't sound humble here, but stay with me), but first, what is a BHAG? It's a big, hairy, audacious goal. In Vision to Reality, I share how I used to be an executive coach, working with top achievers in 100-day increments. While I don't share this in the book, I had noticed that most people take the approach of "long term, minimal...

Reading Time: Postcard (38 seconds) Thank you to everyone who took advantage of the Black Friday -- Cyber Monday course sales and welcome! Two parts of my financial practice are tithing and giving. I give a portion of every dollar earned and received. So it's fitting that we've got two "giving" great days fairly close to each other, Thanksgiving and Giving Tuesday (which is today). Part of my intentional giving is to support organizations I know are doing great work. One of these is Family &...

Reading Time: Postcard Pep Talk (33 seconds) If your inbox is anything like mine, Reader, then it's probably overflowing today — sales, countdowns, noise from every direction. So let’s skip the clutter (ya'll know how I feel about clutter!) and go right to what matters. There’s only one Cyber Monday decision that keeps paying you back in January… next summer… next year… and every year after that. It’s not the gadgets. Not the kitchen tools. Not the creams or cozy things we all get tempted by....
