When I published my first book, Tall Order!, I sent one to a friend of mine and while she was reading it, her husband asked,

"Who is Honorée to write a book?"

#rude

Good thing I didn't take that that heart and stop working toward my vision of building an empire. Neither should you.

If the thought, Who am I to write a book? has ever crossed your mind, you're not alone (you're in good company—some of the most qualified people I know struggle with this).

I'm not sure who needs to hear this today, but here's what I'd love you to keep in mind:

• You have experience others need
• You've solved problems others are facing
• You have a unique perspective shaped by your journey
• People already come to you for advice

Also: You don't need permission from anyone to share what you know and want to share. #justsayin'
