Algorithms Question

Reading Time: 4x6 Postcard

It's Sunday and I'm going to read like it's my job today! Oh, wait ... 😊

But first, I got a question about the algorithms you might want to know the answer to, too.:

Aren't the (Amazon) algorithms constantly changing, so there's really no way to engage them?

I know for a fact this is both true and false at the same time. Yes, they are always changing. And yes, you can engage (read: train) them.

Think of your book as a baby (not your baby) and you want to keep that baby healthy and eventually able to work on its own. You would feed it only good food, make sure it's safe, and teach it how to be confident. You with me?

In book speak, you'll do this: make it top-quality (write with a great team, and publish professionally), talk about it early on (and as long as possible) to only people who would read it anyway (see yesterday's postcard), and eventually the algorithms will recognize who the ideal buyers are and serve it up to them automatically (no ads needed).

See you in the a.m.

Reading Time: Short missive Happy Saturday! Is it possible to have a non-drinking hangover? Asking for a friend. My coauthor, Ali, and I have 58 reviews for The Success Code and we both been mighty focused on getting reviews. I explained to him that "just anyone with an Amazon account" isn't the goal--we want reviews from people who would read this type of book anyway. (Business professionals, entrepreneurs, senior-level professionals ... and anyone who is a self-improvement devotee.) Why? To...

Reading Time: Postcard Good morning! Apologies for this being a tad late. The launch party for my newest book, with Ali Hemyari, The Success Code was last night and it's taken me a few extra minutes (read: coffee) to start the engines this morning. People came from all over--friends, colleagues, family--it was absolutely amazing! It's worth writing a book if only to have a party and see all of your peeps (and of course, cake). If you haven't yet gotten a copy, you can get it here:...

Reading Time: Postcard + Of course a lot of my pen pals responded (thank you!), and one in particular said, "Well, that's what I'm here for--for you to tell me what my one thing is!" Fair enough. (Some of you responded with the one thing you were letting go or the strategy you wanted to apply--love all of that!) Is it going to shock you that I suggest you start with a book? You know book isn't just a book—it multiplies your credibility, gives you authority, is a literal lead generation...
